The personal information that Hidden Heroes disclosed to third parties identified in the “Do we share your personal information?” section about consumers for a business purpose in the twelve months prior to the effective date of this Disclosure fall into the following categories established by the California Consumer Privacy Act: 

 

  • identifiers such as your name, alias, address, phone numbers, or IP address; 
  • personal information, such as credit card number; 
  • age, gender, or other protected classifications; 
  • commercial information, such as purchase history; 
  • internet or other electronic network activity information; 
  • geolocation data, such as the location of your device or computer; and 
  • professional information.

The Foundation uses various technology and procedures to secure the information that we collect from and about you and your access to the Web Sites.

You may opt-out of certain uses of your personal information as follows: (1) you may “unsubscribe” from our mailing list using a link provided in email that we send you from time to time; (2) you may “unregister” from our Web Sites by sending us an electronic message using the form available at https://www.elizabethdolefoundation.org/contact-us/. As for the latter, within a reasonable amount of time once you are “unregistered,” the Foundation will discontinue sharing your information with third parties who might otherwise send you advertising.

With respect to donations made over the internet, we use a third party donation processor for handling credit card and electronic check payments. The security of those transactions is subject to the terms of the processor; those third party terms are linked on the web pages where you may provide information to make donations.

With respect to donations made by check, for example sent by mail, we have put in place internal procedures to protect the security of the financial information associated with checks.
